2/3 Day Classrooms

Students enrolled in a 2/3 day classroom at the AASD Learning Express are 3-4 years old and attend preschool half days on either Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Because this setting is typically a child’s first experience in school, we primarily focus on teaching routines, independence, social-emotional skills, and following directions to complete preschool concept activities.

Skills introduced in a 2/3 day classroom:

• Following Routines – managing transitions, walking in line, sitting at circle, completing small group tasks, following adult directions
• Independence - toileting, hand-washing, hanging up/packing up belongings
• Social/emotional skills – PATHS lessons, sharing, taking-turns
• Foundational preschool skills - fine motor skills, colors, letters, and sorting
